We're making this podcast today because, in my opinion, podcasts are one of the best ways to improve your English,

I will explain a little bit of my reasoning later, so the reason why I think this later on,

but I first thought that maybe I could introduce myself, maybe this is your first time meeting me,

I will explain anyway, I'll try and keep it very brief, but an introduction is a good way to warm up with English too,

because I think most of us probably could introduce ourselves in English, so it will be easy, easy to start with,

so my name is Evie, I am an English teacher from the UK.

Lots of people ask me where exactly my accent is from, so I am from a place called Cornwall,
很多人问我我的口音到底来自哪里。其实我来自一个叫做康沃尔（Cornwall）的地方。
but I don't really have a Cornish accent.
不过，我其实并没有真正的康沃尔口音。
I do have a Cornish accent when I speak to somebody else who has one, so if I speak to my family,
当我与同样带有康沃尔口音的人交谈时，我的确也会带有康沃尔口音；不过如果我和家人说话的话，情况就不同了。
I might have more of a Cornish accent,
我的康沃尔口音可能会更重一些。
but when I'm teaching, when I'm making these videos, my accent is more like a very typical southern English accent.

I've also been told it's a bit London, in some places my accent is not like Cockney, obviously,

but just like a lot of how

a lot of people speak in London, which makes sense, I lived in London for four years while I was at university.

I did my degree at the London School of Economics in history,

so anyway, that's why if I sound a little bit like I'm from London,

As a person, things that I am interested in personally, I really love writing,

I'm a big writer, I love writing when I get time, I like writing stories,

I like writing poetry, I like writing articles, anything creative is just a lot of fun for me,

I also, I just really enjoy language in general, so I like language learning,

I love reading as well, I don't get a lot of time to read these days, I think many of us probably feel that way,

We don't read enough, but I love reading, I want to read more, I just need more time.

So I've been listening to lots of audio books at the moment,

I recently finished one called Daisy Jones and the Six, which is a book by, I don't know what the author is,

Taylor, who the author is, Taylor Reed, something like this, it was a good, it was a good book,

So languages I mentioned, that's something I like, I have only learnt one language to a point where I could have a conversation,

which is Spanish, I learnt Spanish because my boyfriend is from Spain, so that's the reason why I learnt that,

I started learning that when I was 22 years old or 23 years old, so I'd never learnt a language before that moment.

So I feel very passionate about adult language learning, and this is why I started making videos, it's because I work with adult students,
