Neurotransmitter - animated video science · Katharina Petsche - Erklärvideo & Animation

  1. Today's students, we will talk about neurotransmitters.

  2. Our brain consists of billions of neurons, specialized cells which communicate with each other.

  3. Neuro -transmitters are small molecules that transmit signals from one neuron to another across to synapse,

  4. and this way they control all our feelings and emotions.

  5. There are different neurotransmitters, each having different tasks.

  6. This, for example, is GABA.

    例如,这就是 GABA(γ-氨基丁酸)。

  7. By binding to his receptor, he creates the feeling of calmness that helps us to relax.

  8. This is melatonin, a lazy guy, always sleeping on his synapse.

  9. He's very active every night, makes us feel tired, and helps us to sleep.

  10. But now is not the right time to be tired.

  11. Now it's time for oxytocin.

  12. Oh,

  13. what's going on?

  14. Ah,

  15. it's adrenaline, a very stressed and frightened molecule, even afraid of jumping out of a synapse.

  16. Come on adrenaline, relax, it's not a scary situation.

  17. Maybe our friend GABA can help you calm down a little bit.

  18. Thank you GABA.

    谢谢你,GABA。

  19. Now it's time to enjoy love,

  20. and time for dopamine to spread happiness all over the brain.
