Here is the plan!

Step 1: I'll model each word for you, first slowly and then faster.

Repeat after me to practise.

And then step 2: we'll practise the words together in full sentences.

We're going to focus first on one key feature of my and many other British accents.

I don't pronounce the letter 'r' at
我不发字母“r”的音。
the end of a word or before consonant sounds, so the letters -er at the end of words usually sound like /uh/, /uh/.
在单词的末尾或辅音音素之前，单词末尾的 “-er” 这个字母组合通常发音为 /ʌ/ 或 /ə/。
This sound is called the schwa sound and it's the most common sound in English.

In most American accents, these letters would sound more like /uhr/.
