Today we're in the Windy City in Chicago and today we are celebrating St. Patrick's Day.

They died this river green this morning.

It used to be blue but now it's green.

The first vocabulary word is dye.

This means the change of color of something using a liquid or a substance and we can use this word in four different ways.

With your hair, clothes, food or in this instance the Chicago River.

For example, they died the river green this morning.

In the 1960s it was super common to tie dye your shirts.

We dyed the frosting on the cake red.

Now if you're writing this word or spelling it try not to confuse it with the word dye which means to stop living.

Use the correct word dye which means to change colors.

This was originally a religious holiday but now it celebrates Irish culture all around the world.
