Okay, so back to the lesson we have during versus for versus while.

So let's go over each one of them first one by one.

The first is during.
第一个阶段是在活动进行期间。
So we use during with a noun to talk about when something happens.
因此，我们会用 “during” 加名词来表示某事发生的时间。
So the question that you're answering is when.
那么，你正在回答的问题就是“什么时候”。
And here I have written out the structure of how we should use it.
在这里，我详细写出了我们应该如何使用它的具体步骤（或结构）。
So we have a verb plus during plus a noun.
因此，我们有一个动词，再加上 “during”（在……期间），最后再加上一个名词。
And right here we have some examples.
就在这里，我们有一些例子。
And again, feel free to also include your own examples during your practice.

So the first example we have written is some people got lost during the hike.

So when it was during the hike, so while they were hiking they had gotten lost.

Next we have I will finish this novel during the summer break.

So when summer break.

So maybe you have homework to do for school.

And one of your homework assignments is to read a book read a novel.

So you will finish.

I will finish this novel during the summer break.

Next we have I kept coughing during the exam.
接下来，我在考试期间一直咳嗽个不停。
So when did that happen?
那么，那件事是什么时候发生的呢？
When did your coughing happen?
你的咳嗽是什么时候开始的？
The exam during the exam.
考试期间还在继续考试……
So following this structure of verb during noun, the verb here is coughing.
因此，按照“动词位于名词之后”的这种结构，这里的动词是“coughing”（咳嗽）。
Then we have during and then the noun, which is the exam.
然后是动词部分，接着是名词“考试”。
Next we have it rained during the night.
接下来，夜里下起了雨。
So again following this structure, the verb is rained.
那么，再次按照这个结构来说，动词是 “rained”（下雨）。
So raining.
雨下得真大啊。
Then we have during and then the noun, which is the night.
接下来是表示时间的部分，然后是名词“night”（夜晚）。
So that's when the rain happened.
就在那时，雨开始下了。
And then the last example I have written on the board is my phone rang during the meeting.
最后，我在黑板上写的例子是：会议进行期间我的手机响了。
So again, the verb here is rang.

So your phone rang.
