学习7种表达怀疑的英语短语,适用于朋友或家人之间听到令人难以置信的事情时使用。适合练习口语和日常交流。
In this English lesson, I want to teach you some phrases we use to express disbelief.
在这节英语课上,我想教你们一些用来表达怀疑的短语。
Phrases we use when someone tells us something and we don't quite believe them.
当有人告诉我们某些事情,而我们不太相信他们时,我们会使用以下这些短语:
Let's say Jen said to me, "Bob, you won't believe this.
假设珍对我说:“鲍勃,你绝对不会相信的。
I bought a lottery ticket and we won two million dollars."
我买了一张彩票,结果我们赢得了两百万美元。
I might say one of two phrases.
我可能会说出以下两种短语中的一种。
I might say, "Shut up."
我可能会说:“闭嘴。
Now, that's normally a phrase we use rudely to tell someone to stop
嗯,这通常是我们用来粗鲁地让别人停止某件事的用语。
talking, but we also sometimes use it in a funny way to express disbelief, or I might say "get out," which means exactly the same thing.
我们确实会用这个词来表达某种意思,但有时候也会以一种幽默的方式使用它来表示怀疑或不满(比如“滚开”)。这两种表达方式其实意思完全一样。
I'm simply saying to Jen, "I don't really believe you, but I do really want to, but I don't really believe you."
我只是对詹说:“我其实不太相信你的话,但我真的很希望相信你……不过我还是不太相信你。
So those are your first two phrases.
那么,这就是你的前两个短语了。
You may have heard these phrases if you've ever watched the TV show Seinfeld.
如果你曾经看过电视剧《宋飞正传》(Seinfeld),那么你可能已经听说过这些短语了。
Elaine often shoves the other characters and yells "get out," as an expression of disbelief.
伊莱恩经常推搡其他角色,并大喊“滚出去”,以此来表达自己的不信任或愤怒情绪。
And I think once or twice she even shoves and says "shut up."
我觉得有一两次,她甚至会推搡对方,并说“闭嘴”。
Basically meaning she doesn't believe what the other person is saying.
基本上来说,这意味着她不相信对方所说的话。
The second phrase I want to teach you that we use to express disbelief is the phrase "you did not."
我想教给你的第二个用来表达怀疑的短语是 “You did not.”(你没有……)。
Let's say I've always wanted to go to a Taylor Swift concert, but I can't really afford the tickets.
假设我一直都很想去听泰勒·斯威夫特(Taylor Swift)的演唱会,但我实在买不起门票。
If Jen said to me, "Bob, I got a couple of tickets to the next Taylor Swift concert," I might express disbelief by saying,
如果珍对我说:“鲍勃,我有几张泰勒·斯威夫特下一次演唱会的门票”,我可能会表示怀疑,然后说:“真的吗?
"You did not."
你没有做到。
Basically, I'm saying to Jen.
基本上,我想说的是对 Jen 的。
I don't believe that you actually got the tickets.
我不相信你真的买到了那些票。
You did not get the tickets, and I express it with that phrase: "You did not."
你没有买到那些票,我用这句话来表达这个事实:“你没有买到。
And then I would probably follow up by saying, "Did you really?"
然后我可能会接着问:“你真的那么做了吗?
So another expression of disbelief that you can use when someone tells you something that's hard to believe,
因此,当有人告诉你一些难以相信的事情时,你还可以使用另一种表达怀疑的方式。
you could simply say, "You did not."
你完全可以简单地说:“你没有做到。
The third phrase we sometimes use to express disbelief is the phrase "Stop it."
我们有时用来表达怀疑的第三个短语是“别说了”(或“住手”)。
Imagine that Jen and I are going on a trip.
想象一下,珍和我要一起去旅行。
We have tickets to go on an airplane, and Jen says to me, "Bob."
我们已经有机票,可以坐飞机出行了。然后詹对我说:“鲍勃。
The airline just texted, and they've upgraded us to first class for free.
航空公司刚刚发来短信,他们免费将我们的机票升级到了头等舱。
I might reply and say, "Stop it."
我可能会回复说:“别这样了。
Basically, what I'm saying is, "I don't believe you."
简单来说,我的意思是:“我不相信你。
And if that did happen in real life, I wouldn't believe Jen, and I would actually say that.
如果这种事真的发生在现实生活中,我根本不会相信詹的话,而且我还会当面这么说。
I would say, "Stop it!
我会说:“别这样了!
I don't believe you.
我不相信你。
Show me the text."
把文本给我看看。
So, another phrase we sometimes use to express disbelief: "Stop it."
那么,我们还常用另一个短语来表达怀疑或不信:“别说了。
The fourth phrase that I wanted to teach you today that we use to express disbelief is actually two phrases,
今天我想教给大家的第四个用来表达怀疑的短语,其实是由两个短语组成的。
and it's the phrase "Are you serious?"
就是这句话:“你是认真的吗?
or just the word "Seriously"?
或者仅仅是“Seriously”这个词?
Let's imagine a friend of yours has applied for a job, a really prestigious job, and you don't think they're going to get it.
假设你的一个朋友申请了一份非常知名的工作,而你认为他们不太有可能获得这份工作。
If they call you or text you and say "Hey, I got the job," you could respond by saying "Are you serious?"
如果他们给你打电话或发短信,说“嘿,我得到那份工作了”,你可以回复:“你是认真的吗?
