  19. Although it might seem logical to use the present continuous—like I did at the beginning of the video: 'I'm knowing you're going to learn a lot today.'—it's not correct.

    虽然用现在进行时似乎很合理——就像我在视频开头说的:'我知道你今天会学到很多。'——但这是不正确的。

  20. We need to use a simple form instead: 'I know that you're going to learn a lot today.'

    我们需要用简单形式:'我知道你今天会学到很多。'

  21. Now, why can't we add -ing to 'know' and use a continuous tense?

    那么,为什么不能在'知道'后面加-ing并用进行时态呢?

  22. Well, that's because in English, we can divide verbs into 2 categories: action verbs—sometimes called dynamic verbs—and state or stative verbs.

    嗯,这是因为在英语中,我们可以把动词分为两类:动作动词(有时称为动态动词)和状态动词。

  23. Action verbs describe activities that happen or that we do.

    动作动词描述发生或我们做的活动。

  24. They often have a clear beginning and end.

    它们通常有明确的开始和结束。

  25. Read, write, run, play and sing are all examples of action verbs.

    读、写、跑、玩和唱都是动作动词的例子。

  26. In fact, most verbs are action verbs and can be used in continuous forms.

    事实上,大多数动词都是动作动词,可以用进行时态。

  27. For example: 'I was reading this morning but now I'm cleaning the kitchen.'

    比如:'我今天早上在读书,但现在我在打扫厨房。'

  28. Stative verbs describe states of being.

    状态动词描述的是存在状态。

  29. The state is more stable and is unlikely to change.

    这种状态更稳定,不太可能改变。

  30. We don't tend to use them with -ing in continuous forms.

    我们通常不会在状态动词后加-ing用于进行时。

  31. Now, I don't want to give you a massive list of stative verbs to memorise because it's boring and a bit scary and overwhelming.

    我不想给你们列出一大串需要记忆的状态动词清单,因为那很无聊,还有点吓人,让人难以招架。

  32. Instead, I want to encourage you to consider the various categories of sstative verbs and their general meanings.

    相反,我想鼓励你们去思考状态动词的不同类别及其大致含义。

  33. This should help you gain a better understanding of stative verbs and use them correctly in real-world situations.

    这应该能帮助你们更好地理解状态动词,并在实际情境中正确使用它们。

  34. Let's begin with our first category: stative verbs that describe mental states, such as thoughts and opinions we've already looked at 'to know,' but can you think of any other verbs that would fall under this category?

    让我们从第一类开始:描述心理状态的状态动词,比如我们已经看过的'to know'(知道),但你能想到其他属于这一类的动词吗?

  35. Well, there is 'to understand'.

    嗯,还有'to understand'(理解)。

  36. We don't generally say: 'Are you understanding what I'm saying?'

    我们通常不会说:'你正在理解我说的话吗?'

  37. Instead, we would most likely say: 'Do you understand what I'm saying?'

    相反,我们很可能会说:'你理解我说的话吗?'

  38. We also have 'to think'.

    我们还有'to think'(认为)。

  39. In general, we don't say: 'I'm thinking this is the right answer.'

    一般来说,我们不会说:'我正在认为这是正确答案。'

  40. It should be: 'I think this is the right answer.'

    应该说:'我认为这是正确答案。'
