As you know, all of my lessons are based on things I've recently done.

And recently, I went on a school trip.

I went on a trip with other teachers and a whole bunch of students to a city near us to study the urban landscape,

A trip.

So a trip is a journey to a place and back again.

So you can see that these people have luggage, they have suitcases, they're probably at an airport, that would be my guess,

and they are going on a trip to Vancouver next month with their daughter.

So when you go on a trip, it's a general term, a noun we use to talk about going somewhere.

It can be something as simple as a trip to the grocery store.

Or a trip to France, so it simply means a journey to a place and back again.

So we don't generally use the word trip if you're going somewhere and staying there permanently.

Like if someone is going to study for a year in the United States, we would probably

say they're just going to study in the United States.

Maybe a week, maybe two weeks.

It could be as long as a month or two, but it's definitely a journey to a place

So now we have the verb.

So when you like to travel, or you might decide to travel next year because you're retired,
