Well, hello and welcome to this English lesson about phrasal verbs, which I've titled "Phrasal Verbs I Haven't Taught You Yet."
大家好,欢迎来到这节关于短语动词的英语课程。我给这节课起了一个名字:“那些我还没有教过你们的短语动词”。
If you are familiar with my English lessons here on YouTube, you'll know that I've done quite a few phrasal verb lessons,
如果你熟悉我在 YouTube 上发布的英语课程,就会知道我已经讲过很多关于短语动词的课程了。
and so what I did is I took all of the phrasal verb lesson transcripts,
于是我所做的就是收集了所有关于短语动词的课程讲义。
and I processed them using AI and asked it to tell me what phrasal verbs haven't I taught yet,
然后我使用人工智能对这些数据进行了处理,并让它告诉我哪些短语动词我还没有教过。
and it came up with this list of 25.
于是它列出了这份包含 25 个项目的清单。
Now.
现在。
I do have to say, I'm not sure it's 100% accurate, because I feel like some of these I've actually taught before,
我确实得说,我不确定这个结果的准确性是否达到了100%;因为我觉得其中有些内容我之前确实教过学生们。
but some of them might be new to you, or I might use these phrasal verbs in a different way.
不过其中一些短语对你来说可能是新的;或者我可能会用这些短语动词来表达不同的含义。
So, another lesson about phrasal verbs, those confusing little verb, like it's like a mini verb story that might mean what you think it means,
那么,关于短语动词的另一个要点来了:这些令人困惑的小动词其实就像一个个“迷你动词故事”一样,它们的含义可能与你最初理解的不一样。
or it might mean something completely different.
或者,它可能意味着完全不同的东西。
So, welcome once again.
那么,再次欢迎大家!
To this English lesson about phrasal verbs, I have included for each verb a slide with the verb,
在这节关于短语动词的英语课中,我为每个动词都准备了一张包含该动词信息的幻灯片。
a definition, a picture, and now for this lesson in particular for this English lesson, an example sentence at the bottom.
首先是一个定义,接着是一张图片;而对于这堂英语课来说,特别在课程的最后还提供了一个例句。
First time ever on Bob the Canadian's videos.
这是我第一次观看 Bob the Canadian 的视频。
And there was a request that I put a link to the actual slides in the description.
有人要求我在描述中添加一个链接,以便用户可以直接访问实际的幻灯片文件。
I will do that after the lesson.
我会在课后完成那件事。
I promise.
我保证。
This time, I promise I will do it.
这次,我保证一定会做到。
Anyways, we should get started.
不管怎样,我们应该开始行动了。
Welcome once again to this English lesson about phrasal verbs.
欢迎大家再次来到这节关于短语动词的英语课程。
To break up, to end a romantic relationship, and you can see in the picture she's walking away from the guy and he is sad.
为了分手、结束一段恋爱关系,从图片中可以看出,她正在离开那个男人,而那个男人看起来非常难过。
An example sentence for you: "My friend and his girlfriend are going to break up."
这是一个例句:“我的朋友和他的女朋友打算分手。
So this actually has multiple meanings, and I'll explain the two that are very common.
其实这个词有多种含义,我会解释其中两种最常见的含义。
This is probably the most common way to talk about a romantic relationship ending.
这可能是描述一段浪漫关系结束时最常用的表达方式了。
Did your cousin marry that girl?
你的表弟真的和那个女孩结婚了吗?
No, they broke up.
不,他们分手了。
So that's the past tense.
这就是过去时(past tense)的用法。
Or are you going to continue seeing him?
还是说你会继续和他见面?
No, I think we're going to break up.
不,我觉得我们还是分手吧。
Meaning that the relationship is going to end.
这意味着这段关系将会结束。
Always a sad moment.
这总是一个令人难过的时刻。
Sometimes not.
有时候并不是这样。
Sometimes people break up and it's actually a good thing.
有时候人们会分手,而这其实是一件好事。
But to break up means to end a romantic relationship.
但是,“分手”意味着结束一段浪漫关系。
Here's another way to use it.
这是另一种使用它的方法。
If I buy a chocolate bar, I can break up the chocolate bar into pieces, and then Jen and I can share the pieces.
如果我买了一块巧克力,我可以把它掰成小块,然后我和珍就可以一起分享这些小块巧克力了。
So you can use it to talk about making something into smaller parts as well.
因此,你也可以用它来讨论如何将某个整体分解成更小的部分。
But for this lesson, to break up, to end a romantic relationship, and then I'm only going to read this once,
但就这一课而言,我们需要讨论如何结束一段浪漫关系……而且我只会读这一次内容。
so I'll leave this for you to read again if you rewatch the lesson.
如果你重新观看这节课的话,可以把这部分内容留给你再次阅读。
To break out, to escape from a place where you are being kept.
为了逃脱,为了从那个将你关押的地方逃出来。
