Y ou do not need to sound British.
你并不需要模仿英国人的说话方式(即用英式口音说话)。

这个视频的存在,主要是为了向那些对这一主题感兴趣的人提供信息,并可能在一定程度上为他们带来娱乐。
This video will be focusing predominantly on
这个视频将主要聚焦于……
the Received Pronunciation accent, however, I will
不过,关于“Received Pronunciation”(即英语中的标准发音)这个话题,我还是想说些什么的……
be drawing comparisons between the Received Pronunciation accent and the Modern Received Pronunciation accent because you're more likely to hear Modern Received over Received,
你之所以会将“传统标准发音(Received Pronunciation)”与“现代标准发音”进行比较,是因为在现实中,人们更常听到的是“现代标准发音”而非“传统标准发音”。
despite this being considered more of the "standard".
尽管这更符合“标准”要求,但实际情况仍如此。
So the first thing you can change is by dropping your r's.
那么,你可以做的第一件事就是去掉所有的“r”音。
If we compare this to, say General American Pronunciation, you will hear that they pronounce the /r/ sound more,
如果我们将其与“General American Pronunciation”(即美式英语的通用发音标准)进行比较,你会发现他们发 /r/ 音的频率更高。
particularly at the end of words.
尤其是在单词的末尾。
Let's take this word: car, car.
我们来看这个词:“car”(汽车)。
Notice that I'm not saying the 'r' there.
请注意,我在那里并没有发“r”这个音。
I don't say car, car.
我不会一直重复“汽车”这个词。
The same with this one: here, here.
这个也是如此:就在这里。
While in American English, it would be more here, here.
虽然在美式英语中,这个词更常被用在这里(“here”)。
Girl girl.
女孩,女孩……
Ensure that this sound is very very relaxed.
请确保这种声音听起来非常非常轻松、舒缓。
I have a full video all about how to do this sound as I know it can be tricky,
我有一个完整的视频,专门讲解如何实现这种音效。我知道这个过程可能会比较复杂(或者说需要一些技巧)。
but for now, just know it is very relaxed.
不过目前先了解一下吧:这里的氛围非常轻松、惬意。
Girl.
女孩。
And the 'r' is not pronounced.
其中的字母“r”是不发音的。
Here's another: court, court.
再来看一个例子:“court, court”(法院,法院)。
Now let's take a look at this one.
现在让我们来看看这个例子。
This is our first sound where we have two different ways to pronounce it.
这是我们发出的第一个音节,它有两种不同的发音方式。
So in RP you will hear hair, air, air, hair.
所以在角色扮演(RP)中,你会听到“头发”“空气”“空气”“头发”这样的声音。
So it becomes more relaxed: air, hair.
因此,整个氛围变得更加轻松自然:空气、头发,一切都显得那么自然、和谐。
While in Modern RP, it just becomes more of one sound, more of a monophthong: /e:/, hair, hair.
在现代角色扮演(RP)中,这个发音逐渐演变成一个更单一的声音,即一个元音:/e:/(比如“hair”这个词中的发音)。
So notice it's a little bit flatter.
请注意,它的形状稍微平坦一些。
We're not changing from air it's just one sound: /e:/, hair.
我们并没有改变发音方式;其实只是将某个音的发音形式统一为 /e:/(即“hair”中的“e”发音)。
I like your hair.
我喜欢你的发型。
I like your hair.
我喜欢你的发型。
But the key thing here is there's still no 'r'.
但关键在于:这里仍然没有字母 “r”。
Here's another one with some differences: tour, our, our.
这是另一个版本,其中有一些不同之处:“tour, our, our”。
Then relax it again: our, our, tour.
然后再次放松心情:我们的……旅游活动。
Now what you'll hear many Modern Received Pronunciation speakers say is: tour, tour.
现在,你会听到许多使用现代标准发音(MRP)的人这样说:“tour, tour.
So this 'ua' actually changes to the vowel that we looked at in 'court'.
因此,这个 “ua” 实际上会变成我们在 “court” 这个词中看到的那个元音。
So, you might hear, for example, 'cure' becoming 'cure'.
例如,你可能会听到 “cure” 变成了 “cure”。
'tour', 'tour'.
'tour', 'tour'.
